Chivalry Lives
It's a big night for Dumpling. A local homeschool group is hosting a semi-formal gathering of fathers and daughters. It's a time for dads to model for their girls, what chivalry looks like: opening car doors, pulling out her chair at dinner, bringing her a cup of punch...
A little style to the hair...
And a big sister who kindly acts as a "lady in waiting." Hey, Cuddlebug, don't you want to help?
Fifi's enjoying the role more than she expected to...
And then she pulled Dumpling off the edge of the bed for being a little too uppity!
Are you o.k., Cuddlebug? What's the matter? Hmmmm?
And here's the big moment! A grand descent of the stairs to her awaiting prince-on-loan.
She didn't know she was getting flowers!
Are they real, Daddy? Yes, Sweetie--they're real.
She could get used to this.
To the carriage. By this time, she is milking the moment for everything it's worth--and then some. I thought she might decide that he should pick her up and place her in the car.
Cuddlebug is absolutely despondent. I couldn't tell if she was jealous of Dumpling for her turn at the Father-Daughter formal, or if she was jealous of Daddy for taking her playmate away.
Here's Fifi. She's incredulous to think she is related to this drama queen.
A final good bye.
I'm happy to report that as soon as they were out of sight, I suggested a trip around the corner to Sonic for dinner and I thought I heard Cuddlebug think, "Dumpling? Dumpling who?"

How absolutely precious! And what great memories for her to have.
Dumpling looks positively radiant! What a wonderful experience this must have been for her. And I'm glad Cuddlebuh finally came around, too. By the way, stop by tomorrow (monday). I've got something for you over there.
I bet she must have felt so grown up. It's so nice when the girls can do something special with their daddy. Karah was able to do something similar with a girl scout father/daughter dance last year and she loved it.
Love these precious moments!
that is precious.
I am glad she took a moment to wave to the little people. :>)
What a beauty! I hope she had a fantastic time. :0)
Our girls should always be Daddys' princesses, but sometimes making it a reality will be a life-long memory. I have a daughter in her
20's, and my Dad has been with the Lord for seven years. I still remember and cherish those times Daddy made me feel like a princess.
Oh she looks lovely!! What a neat event. And yes, I think she was enjoying that just a little bit. What a shock to know the spell wears off and she has to do chores on Monday!
Poor Cuddlebug (I'm the 3rd daughter--I feel her pain)--Sonic to the rescue!!!!
Love it!!!
What a wonderful night she must have had!
She'll remember that night for the rest of her life! What special memories! What a beautiful little girl!
She looks beautiful! This is so sweet. I treasure my memories of Daddy-Daughter special times.
That is just so sweet! I love it. Midlife Mom posted her granddaughter with her daddy, all dressed up for a Valentine event. Such fun!
What a fantastic idea! I can't wait to do something like that with Lily. Did they take pictures while out? What did they have to say after? Can you tell I want the rest of the story???
How wonderful!
You know, I actually can learn something from Dumpling. Too often I push away efforts from my beloved when he dotes on me. Dumpling really knows how to enjoy such a sweet gift like that!
And, Sonic would actually do it for me, too. :)
Absolutely precious. She will remember it forever. She looked simply lovely.
Oh I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this post. Our daughters are SO BLESSED to have the fathers they do. I am convinced that 99% of the problems some girls (myself included) have in their teens are due to a lack of male support in their lives. What a blessing to know your daughters will not need to seek that male attention elsewhere!!! :)
She was gorgeous, by the way.
Oh, what a beauty :) I loved seeing the moment unfold...just precious.
This is just absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Your daughters are gorgeous and the father/ dauthter glow is amazing!!!
This was such a beautiful post...and it's so lovely to see that Fathers still take the time to make their daughters feel like real life princess. Just loved it! Keep on enjoying your family :)
