I'm not one for the gaming or collecting that people do there, but my time on Facebook has been great! I found my best friend from Kindergarten, my best friend from 3rd grade, my favorite teacher from 6th grade, and dozens of acquaintances from high school. Somehow, I've amassed nearly 400 friends!
But while the thing that most people like about Facebook is how much it allows them to put out there while requiring so little of them, I've become convicted this week about just how lazy I'm being by seeking to stay in my comfort zone. So. I'm back. Or, I'm trying to be. Bear with me as I try to jump back in with some semblance of order. What I really need is some writing prompts. *hint hint*
In the meantime, maybe I'll start with a few pictures from an outing we took last week to the nearby Dickens Festival...
It's snowing soap bubbles all around her, but Cuddlebug has the biggest hot chocolate that she's ever wrapped her skinny little fingers around--and she's not having to share it--so she doesn't notice.
I'm glad you're here. I'm glad I'm here. Let's think and remember and share and encourage one another, o.k.?

Wooohooo, you're back! I'm a longtime blog, ummm, stalker? lurker? hmmm, I think lurker sounds less scary ;) who has finally figured out this google account/comment thingy. It is good to 'see' you again.

I know what you mean about FB! I've reconnected with SO many old friends. Love that part of it. :) Glad you're back to blogging. Hope your family is having a wonderful Advent season.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the music choice!!
Again. :)
I got a FB account, but with a semi-not real name. so people don't find me. lol. It was set up so my daughter, who moved to VA can *see* all the pictures of what we are doing here. It's basically a photobucket. I am a bad FB-er.
And yet, people still manage to find me. lol. I think I may be up to 30-ish friends, which to my count is about 29ish friends more then I planned.
And I am semi-embarressed to say I have one. I didn't/don't want one. But Chloe likes it, and I like her. :)
Welcome back!! And is that real snow? Really? In TX??
I avoided FB for many many months for the same reasons - so many of my blogging friends disappeared into FB. But then I decided to see who I could find, and that part has been delightful. But it definitely is not "writing" which you do so very well. Welcome back!
Come on over and see what has been going on - the littles are almost 2!
Guilty! I also became lazier after I started going on Facebook. I'm hoping to go less frequently... but it's hard! ;)
It's great to see you back! And if it's any consolation, I haven't written on my blog in forever. Not that I haven't thought about it or wanted to, but life (moving, traveling, movine) has kept me pretty busy. And facebook is easier :) Can't wait to read more!
Well I'm glad you're back too. :) Writing prompts? Well.....you could talk about anything. We know nothing of your life for the last year. (I wasn't counting---I made that up). How's homeschooling coming along? Any major life changes since we last talked? Done anything wonderful to your house?
Clearly you need to move on from this comment and find someone with real ideas.
My, the girls have grown! I don't blame Cuddlebug a bit for enjoying her hot chocolate :)
I'm glad you're back to blogging, Mommy!
So glad you are back. I love to read any of your posts- you seem to always have an angle that makes me think.
Welcome Back!!
Well, if that's a Starbucks Rich Chocolate Hot Chocolate, I wouldn't be able to share either. It's so incredibly yummy!
And, my goodness, when did Fifi, Dumpling, and Cuddlebug get big?! I'm going to pretend it's just your kids getting older and not mine. Or me. :)
Writing prompts: Ditto all the ideas Brenda had (really, they were good!) Also, have any Christmas traditions in which your family participates? Any huge lessons God has taught you recently? Hmmm... you can do a poll about something. (I like doing those.) Read any good books lately? OH! I got one you would be great at! How does one begin to become, shall we say, more musically appreciative, so that she may raise her children to do the same?
Alright, I'm gonna stop now. You can go back to Brenda's comment. ;)
Have I said how excited I am that you are BACK? :)
Another reaon why I don't FB--I would miss blogging too much!
Oh, to be able to wear a vintage hat with the panache that Dumpling has! Adorable. All of them are adorable but I love hats.
I've missed you. What's up in the learning rooms?
All I can say is:
YAY!!!!!!!
and
A Dickens Festival?
and
Missed Your Bloggy Presence! If you hadn't kept your playlist up, I'd have been poorer for the absence,
and
know what you mean about Facebook.
Glad you're back,
deb meyers
As part of the chorus I say, "Welcome back." Well, at least now you've been able to publish your favorite peanut butter, the city your best suited to live in, the Farm you'd most like to raise vegetables on, and other important things! Hope your blog forgives you!
Love you, dear "old" best friend;)
What a surprise to find 2 posts from you.......a nice surprise though! :-)
I love it when you write about your faith. I guess it still intrigues me, if you know what I mean.
Cheers,
Wilm in NZ
Okay... I'm looking at the date of this post (and, by the way, I'm one of those who popped in here several times each week while you were gone, missing your quiet, wise words...) and I think it's time for an intervention.
Do you need an accountability partner? ;)
I love your blog and hope you'll pull yourself away from Facebook long enough to keep us reading. :) It's addicting I know. I also found my old high school BFF and discovered she too had moved to Phoenix! Happy New Year.
Hi! I am blogging much less these days as well. In fact, I think facebook has something to do with it. I wrote about this recently: http://lifeobservationsfromorangehouse.blogspot.com/2010/12/bloggers-block.html
Okay, so just to let you know, I miss you. :) Was checking back at my old blogs from long ago and decided to stop here and see if you were around. Are you? :)
SERIOUSLY??? I just peeked in for the first time in a long time and you're still gone!!! I hope Facebook is happy. :)
So much has changed, I'm sure- your girls are probably grown and married and you're dandling grandchildren on your knee.
See? Do you want me thinking that? Come back, GB!!!
;)
Honestly, though, I was scrolling through some of your past words and remembering what a beautiful writer and faith-imparter you are.
I shall say it gentler... come back, kind friend.

Elise! Wow! Nothing brings a blogger back to the keyboard faster than an accusation that maybe she's a GRANDMOTHER! Yikes!
Thank you for the kind word of encouragement. My husband often gently prods me to blog again too, so perhaps I shall try soon. Inexplicably, it did seem to help me stay structured.
:)
no pressure! it was just a hi and i miss you. and i know that just because it's quiet here doesn't mean you are not fully, joyfully living in the thick of this beautiful, glorious gift of life.

You know... I was thinking about you dear woman. I pray all is well with you & yours. I know you have switches over to FB, and maybe I can catch you there.
I do not have my real name on there. lol. It is Spanish Farrell. SO, if so inclined, and if life is not too busy... see you there?
I miss your amazing life and your lovely posts. So encouraging and good.
Anyway, like I said, think about you and hope all is well.
