Believer's Baptism

She's not saved because she was baptized; she was baptized because she is saved! Hers is not a testimony of stark contrast in lifestyle. Her story will not sell books. The miracle of her salvation is between her and her Savior, alone.

The Great I Am works in the deceitful hearts of ignorant people...

...convicting us of our inherent sin, hidden sin, and sinful actions...

...terrifying us of the debt of never-ending death due for the payment of that sin...

...making available the perfect salve in His Son, Jesus--His bloody death on the cross being the only balm strong enough to bridge the gap between Heaven and Hell...

...regenerating our arrogant hearts...

...to desire the Truth and be able to say, "Yes Lord! I believe!"

And when we die to ourselves with that confession--when the payment of our sin is wiped from our account and moved to that of Jesus the Christ, it is as being buried with Him in the grave and raised again to new life in the One Who lives again, and still lives, and lives forever more!

She has decided to follow Jesus, and with this public proclamation, there is no turning back. Jesus be praised! We are free--free to live in, and serve the Light. And whomever will, may come. Will you?

Watching a baptism ALWAYS brings a tear to my eye. What grace it represents - what power He has and what love that He drew, called and brought us to Himself.

Beautiful pictures of a wonderful day of testimony and declaration. Praising the Lord with you.

What a joy to see our children making our faith their very own!

Blessings,
~Martie

So some cry at weddings - I ALWAYS cry at baptism services - they are wonderful.

I love that the amazing grace of God can prevent us from getting into "stuff" he would need to save us from. Praise His name.

Congratulations! I prayerfully await the day when BB will, God willing, make that choice for himself. I've seen baptisms in a baptistery, a pond, and a creek, but never a pool before! Was it your daughter's decision to wear solid black, or is that what your church does?

Our church is pretty small, not too old, and has no robes yet. The dark colors were for the sake of modesty. :)

My daughter was just baptised last week. She, too, shared the testimony of one raised in a Christian home but deciding to publicly, personally, take a stand for Jesus Christ. Thank you for sharing Fifi's special day.

Hi! I've been lurking here for a few months now, and finally had to say something. Congratulations (is that an appropriate word?) to Fifi!! Thank you for your stand for Christ -- and for blessing us by sharing this special event.
(I don't mind if this doesn't get posted -- just wanted to let you know this.)

Wonderful post! Isn't it beyond wonderful when our children claim and profess Jesus as their own?!
Not just what we've been so diligently teaching them.

I also enjoyed your post on making choices.

Wonderful and great post. I loved what you had to say about baptism and salvation.

My heart always heaps with joy just knowing that another one has been added to One of the Lord's churches. May God bless her life and use her in a great way, His way. connie from Texas

Martie, up at the top of all of these comments, took the words right out of my mouth. She literally put into words everything I was thinking and feeling as I looked at these pictures.
Thank you for sharing such a special time with all of us.

Actually, the Spirit of Christ has been living on the inside of her for awhile. But thanks for rejoicing with us over her public proclamation.
