Not-So-Wordless-Wednesday: Naaman

This picture is of time well spent last March. The flannel background was painted by my dear saint of a grandmother who passed decades ago, but whose work continues to this day, to bring the joy of Bible stories to little ones.

Hers was a life well spent in many such ways.

And picking up her mantle has been my Aunt #1. Cuddlebug and Dumpling are wondering how she can make Naaman go into the water with leprosy and come up clean?! *whisper* I wondered too, until she told me. Because I'm a genius that way.

But I'll never tell. Well, probably I will if you guess it.

That is so fun to see family sharing faith.

We'll blame it on my being tired...I can't figure it out.

Hmmm...I'm wondering, too, but I can't figure it out. Maybe someone else will and you'll tell us the secret.

There is probably a trap-door, so to speak, like slot in the flannel. That's my guess.

What fun that something that someone before is STILL blessing your young ones with the Word of God. :)

Guess I'm having trouble picturing that one!

I am a HUGE fan of the flannel board. People seem to think that kids need DVD curriculums and lots of entertainment. I read the question one time, "If the power went out at your church, could you still have Bible class?" Ah, good thought. I know flannel boards have been around for forever in some people's minds, but guess what? They are brand new to those 3 and 4 year olds I'm teaching this quarter. And they love it!

How cute! I have so many childhood memories of flannel boards. And yes, do tell the secret!

I was thinking the same thing as Karly. Then I realized you said he goes in with leprosy and comes out clean and now I'm completely baffled again.

PLEASE solve the mystery. Because I can't for the life of me figure it out.

O.k., o.k....there *is* a slit in the flannel as Karly suggested, but there is not another Naaman doll in there. While under the "water," the storyteller simply turns Naaman around--one side leprosy, the other side clean.

I think that's what I remember. I'm a genius that way too! *whimper*
