I'm reclaiming my sleep.
I've been sacrificing it for nearly 2 years to write on this blog, to visit yours and to make new friends with a handful of you. And it's made me old and fat. I'm not kidding. I've aged 5 years and gained as many pounds. O.k....10. Grrrrrr. Alright!...15!
Nevermind.
So?
So...I'm seeing my mother for the first time in a couple of years this holiday season, and...you know...there's no way I'm seeing her while I look old and fat! Even if I have to eat only beans and rice until the big visit. Or hire a stand-in for the close-ups.
And I'm pretty sure she's thinking the same thing, and is living off a steady diet of green beans, tomatoes and weenies--a stew concoction she's stood by for decades. It has cost her hundreds of dollars in smaller clothes. Multiple times.
*Sigh* It's how we relate. Though neither of us would ever say that out loud. At least not to each other.
Anyway...
With less and less to say lately, I've found it very refreshing to go to bed by 10:30, if not earlier, and get my 8.5 hours in time to get up and head to the gym before my day finds its traction. And I think it makes a difference.
So, this season's blogging will be a little sparse at Restoring the Years. I'm going to live in the "now," and come out the other side with plenty of blog fodder, I'm sure. And maybe a size or two smaller. And healthier.
Read you a little later! And if I don't get back here before then, have a blessed Thanksgiving.

I limit my commenting on the blogs I read to allow myself more time in the here and now. I read you, always enjoy you but don't always tell you. I'm sorry. You'll be missed! Have a great Thanksgiving too.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! I found my short blogging break to live in the now with my family (and have a great holiday) a great way to regain balance. Praying that for you as well.
Awwww! I will miss you! You could do before and after pics...ie "this is my body on blog...this is my body 14 days blog clean" ;) Have fun!! Looking forward to when you fall off the wagon! teehee
Have a wonderful holiday! I'll look forward to your posts whenever you're able to sit at the computer but am delighted you're just going to be enjoying life. Blogging has slowed down a bit for me too and it's refreshing. :0)
Have a great break and I'm just happy you aren't leaving us altogehter.
Enjoy your sleep and green beans.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I'm sorry but this is simply unacceptable. Well, not really, but it does make me a bit sad for myself. Happy for you, though. :)
You are going about seeing your mother like some of us go about preparing for our high school reunion-lol!
Enjoy your sleep, your exercise, your "fun" new diet plan, and most of all the blessed holiday season.
I will be thinking of you, and praying for you!
I will miss your wisdom and wit. I never thought of it, but that could by contributing to my lack of weight loss as well. Hmmm.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, a good visit with your mother, and a blessed Christmas!
We'll be here when you get back. I shall always be grateful for my first award from you!
You need your sleep. So go ahead and get it. Have a happy, healthy Thanksgiving. And since I'm sure you won't get around to visiting my little corner of the web anytime soon, here's the latest: We're having baby #5 in May. I will miss your profound insights and wisdom. God bless you.
Good for you! Go catch up on that sleep, eat right, and exercise. I'm sure you'll feel much better when you find your way back here. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Enjoy the holidays and don't worry about computer-world, we'll still be here when you come back...thinner, rested, and refreshed!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Enjoy your blog-free time, and enjoy the visit with your mother. :)

You are probably snoozing and losing (hey, I rhymed!) wrinkles and pounds as I type this. I must go now...or I will end up looking like Joan Rivers before the surgeries.
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving! See you later!
hmmmm...tomatoes, green beans and weenies?? What's THAT about!?
I agree, you should post your "before and after" diet and exercise plan. To inspire us couch potatoes.
I will miss your posts, and am hoping you'll be inspired to put up some news/thoughts about your family a couple times a week (?)

I pray you are able to savour your precious time.
I look forward to hearing from you and checking in with you.
Enjoy your visit with your mother and have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

p.s. Thank you for your comment on my dealing with deployments post. It was a blessing. ;o)
I will miss you a lot but I completely understand the need to pull back. I, too, have gained poundage sitting here reading and writing blogs...and I agree...actually "living life" is a good thing! :)
God bless and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I understand totally!
Hope you and yours had a blessed thanksgiving!
Oh, I am so going to miss you!
Enjoy your break. I look forward to a post with lots of news and pictures.
If you happen to check back in, please share the tomatoes, green beans and weenies diet.
Enjoy your mom and the Holidays.
