Trip to the pediatrician's office for an examination and tests:

"I don't have anything" Cranberry juice-to-go at posh restaurant near Dr.'s office:

$2.00

Children's pain medication:

$5.00

Dinnertime trip to the E.R. to be evaluated for appendicitis:

$150.00 deductible

Graham cracker dinner at half past midnight:

FREE, Compliments of the nurse's station

Spending 5 hours with a little one, alone, waiting and reading the story of Esther together:

Priceless

I had a hard time choosing between sympathy and hysterical laughter. I went with the latter. This is too funny. To me. But I didn't have to write the checks.
