How Grandpa Won Grandma

This is my lovely Aunt #1 sweetly sharing the story behind this accordian. Those were the days. Men were responsible. Women were chaste. Each made a vow and a promise and only at death did they part.

I never thought I would say this, but that is one beautiful accordian for the constancy it represents. And I just happen to be reading Persuasion too. :)

Persuasion...is that a book you recommend? Or is my wee brain showing? ;)

I LOVE hearing about family history. Especially of the days in which people were God-fearing, responsible, and chaste, like you said. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry... Persuasion by Jane Austen. ALL Austen is to be recommended. Fifi would enjoy it too, I think.

Oh yes, Laura...Jane Austin. Haven't read a one of them--isn't that beyond awful? When I was a wicked teen living a wicked life, my idea of good reading was the incestuous, hideous intrigue being published by V.C. Andrews.

NOT to be recommended.

I will though read Austin though. *We* will. I think Fifi wants to be a little closer to marrying age before she gets all engrossed in romance though. Her feelings...and mine, I guess.

Or maybe I'll sneak a read before that. ;)

My teen years were spent reading similar books--and worse. I just got into Austen about 2 years ago!

I love the romance aspects of Austen, but I also sort of forget they are romance, if that makes any sense. The virtues and the absurdities of all the characters are so strong and well-written.

But really, I admire Fifi's (and your's) putting it off until the fullness of time. How utterly sensible and wise of you both. :)
