Backsies! I Call Backsies!

It's midnight. The girls are asleep.

So I'm stifling my scream. My incredulous, irritated, very loud scream.

Last weekend, in an effort to streamline my stuff, specifically kitchen stuff, I stuffed a laundry basket full of said stuff and before I could rethink any of it Husband whisked it away to the Goodwill depot down the way.

Good. I'm glad that's done. I've freed up a little space in the cabinets. I'm keeping only what we need; stuff that actually sees some regular use.

The fryer? Didn't make the cut.

The Pampered Chef ice shaver? No. (Sorry Aunt #1; Sonic sells its ice by the bag, so who needs to shave ice any more?)

The Vit-a-mix? Yes. It doesn't get used near as much as it should, but it stays--in hope.

The 19-year old food processor? Yes. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'll make bread pudding someday. My recipe calls for pulverized breadcrumbs, not cubes.

The crystal cream and sugar set? No. It was a wedding gift and has never been used. I don't have time for ebay.

The cut glass plates? No. Another wedding gift. Kind of ugly. Only 3 of 4 remained. Couldn't imagine how I'd ever use them.

The large cut glass platter that someone from work gave us for our wedding? Apparently not because I just went looking for it and the cream and sugar set because I'm going to need them for Fifi's Tea next Saturday and I know she said she wanted them but I was a woman on a mission and assured her that someday she would want to pick out her own stuff and so I put it in the bag and barely remember and so now tomorrow I get to go to the Goodwill Store and hope that I can buy it back!

Wwwwah, wah, wah, wah!

Hopefully it will still be there.

I have so done this. Gone on a minimalizing tear and then realized I totally gave something away I should have kept.

But really, who on earth knew you'd be doing a high tea? With ecru cloth napkins?

Oh well. I'll bet if it's not there, you'll find something else that works just as well. Really. People get rid of that kind of stuff all the time.

LOL

Oh, that is so incredibly sad! I'm always throwing out something that I then regret. I hope you can find them!

HOw many times have I passed things on only to need them the next day?! Or better yet listen to my mother lament about how I'm always getting rid of good stuff. The difference; she has lived in the same house since I was in 3rd grade. I'm well into my 40's now. Me, I married a marine; the longest I've lived in one house was for 4 years.

I hope you can find what you passed on. Or perhaps Fifi will get to pick out her own, a little earlier than intended. :)

Oh, I am so sorry! It has happened to me a time or three before, though not for such an important thing as high tea.

I don't believe I knew Sonic sold bagged ice, nor have I ever had it. I am so sheltered.

It was a very pleasant surprise seeing you guys yesterday at Starbucks! Have a great, God-filled week.

Our local Sonic doesn't actually have "Sonic ice" - that should be against the rules for them to have regular ice.

You are a brave woman. I've always imagined giving away something you didn't mean to and then having to buy it back. I hope you can find it!

Did you find it??

Love your comment today - I'll pass it along to the pastor!

Had to come back, again, and just say

THANK YOU!!!!!!

We were in Kingman Wednesday (over an hour away) and remembered to take the ice chest. The freezer is now bare of food, but FULL of Sonic ice.

You need a medal.
