Lunchtime Thanksgiving

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this day,
And for our family.

Thank You for sending Your Son
To do what only He could do.

Thank You for making us acceptable in Your sight
Through His work on the cross,
And for inviting us to boldly approach Your throne and
Make our supplications
Through Him Who saves us.

Thank You for this food.

Thank You for the wheat that made the bread.
Thank You for giving life to the cows that gave the milk,
And to the bees that made the honey.
Thank You for growing the peanuts that made the peanut-butter.
And for growing the apples too.

Thank You for making man industrious
So that this food reaches our table so easily.

Thank You for providing a job for Daddy
That feeds us well and healthily.
We pray for others who aren't so blessed this day,
And ask You to please -- please make a way.

Help us, Lord, to be sensitive to Your Spirit.
That we might recognize all these graces
As talents You've bestowed upon us,
That we may know the joy in being useful to You.

Show us the work You have ordained for us,
And help us to walk in it.
