Drumroll Please...

The blogosphere is full of personalities. It's tempting to want to be funny like Boomama or Clemntine, or deep and profound like Ann Voskamp -- but sometimes you just have to be yourself and trust that the Lord has a use for everyone, in His timing.

And so, Barb has tagged me to pass on the Thinking Blogger Award to five blogs...to five blogs that make me think. The award is not for my favorite blog, or the one I check first every morning. It's not necessarily for my closest cyber-friend's blog; it's for the ones that makes me think. It's for the ones that challenge me somehow and send me to the Scripture as a Berean. Sometimes I give a hearty "Amen," and sometimes not, but the blogs here make me think.

That desperation to not be misunderstood? That's just me becoming my mother. Try to read past it.

Here they are, in no particular order...

Brenda at Rocking Chairs and Rainbows already got one, but I would have named her if she hadn't. But I'm not, because she did.

Lady Laura at Let Me Be A Woman makes me think when I least expect it. One minute she's just being friendly with news of the latest and then she sandwiches in profound posts -- o.k., convicting posts -- like this one that completely blew my defense in waking too late, "Well honey, get me some servant girls and I'll get up early to feed them."

Elise at A Path Made Straight is a relatively new read for me. She writes from a heart that loves the Lord, but her writing isn't a study in theology -- it's a call to stop and smell the roses. Her talent, in my opinion, is helping the frantic SAHM see 20 years down the road to what will matter and what won't; she has a handle on eternal perspective. Her blog is eloquently written and has been used of the Lord to redirect the course of many a moment for me.

Kim Anderson at MotherLode does not update enough; maybe she's not mastered by the blogging habit like some others. Read her brief bio and you know that this one's going to require some dedicated brain space.

TheReverendsWife at Seeking Faithfulness has a lot to say and the experience to back it up. She is raising many children, and has been a pastor's wife. She's been on both sides of so many circumstances that it is an encouragement to read her perspective -- always backed up with Scripture.

Carol at She Lives has something to say and boy-oh-boy does she say it! Sometimes she makes me laugh, laugh, laugh. Sometimes she makes me squirm, squirm, squirm. But she has a consistency about her: she makes me think.

Ladies, grab the picture, attach it to the website of origin and consider yourself tagged!

Congrats on your award! I am certainly enjoying the thinking part of my brain when I read you. Among others. Parts that is, not people. Have a great day!

Oh, my word. That's one of the nicest things anyone's ever blogged about me. Thank you so much. I'm very pleased to get this into my sidebard.

I think. ;-)

I am truly humbled. Grafted Branch, there has been many a time that I have come here and left in silence, letting the words and the picture they painted sink in slowly. Your writing and experiences have been a great blessing to me!
I shall attempt to respond to this and the other one on Wednesday. Thank you!

Wow! I am so honored. And humbled. And gratified. :)

I will be thinking on who to nominate, though I don't suppose I can nominate you back, can I? I would if I could, but I don't suppose you want to perpetual tag, eh?

I wanted to nominate you, too - too many good writers!! I haven't read any of the ones you chose, so will definitely have to make the time to do so. So many blogs, so little time!!

Congrats! I would have named you, too, but Barb got us both. :o) Now I've got even more blogs to visit. Someday.

Thanks for the mention!

Congrats, GB! You are a thinking blogger, for sure...it was so hard to only pick five of my own nominees. And you said it so well...sometimes it's so tempting to copy another's style that you admire, but it's best to be yourself and let God use that!
(However, my style is yet to be determined...) ;)
There's a couple people on your list that I haven't yet visited, so am on my way to say hello...:)
