This put a huge lump in my throat. He's a wonderful man to comfort her like that but oh my word, it breaks my heart to even imagine what that poor little child has been through. And I wonder what her future holds. So, so sad.
I hope you don't mind- I am going to save this photo to my computer and email it to some friends who "don't blog." This holds a special place in my heart. Thank you.
I just got goose-bumps! VERY timely post ...thank you for the show of support. The media sure does not cover enough of the wonderful things that are being done over there.
My God, my hope is that he would adopt that little girl and take her home with him. My fear is that he won't. I am going to pray that he will! 'For this is true religion, to care for the orphans and the widows.'
This made me sit and bawl. It amazes and shames me at how easy it is to get caught up in "my world" and the things here in the states and push to the back of my mind the military that are in Iraq. My husband is a Marine and we live on a base that is deploying Marines all the time. I love what some one posted already about this man taking that little one home with him. Thanks for the post!
Wow. And sometimes we think the little things we do "to the least of these" don't matter! This is a wonderful reminder to me to do what I can, where I can, when I can. It's up to God to do the rest :)

Thank you for sharing, GB. *Thank you.*
I've seen this - it is so precious. And so good for the world to see the other side of things than just what the media typically reports!
Thanks!

God bless him.
Matthew 25:40 ~ "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
GB, I glanced at this picture earlier, but hadn't clicked on it to read words in the clipping...that brought tears to my eyes!
SO sweet...

Thank you.
This is good for me to see... it reminds me of another good reason my Marine will be over there. Thanks so much.
Thank you for posting this...it's amazing how one picture can say so much.
Wonderful picture and thought. Thank you.
I've been away from reading for a couple of days. I loved yesterday's as well!

I agree. That's one reason to be in Iraq.
