Sola Scriptura

Another blessed message at our new church this morning.

I am refreshed. I am blessed. I am spurred on to good deeds. And all because I've been reminded today that the scriptures are sufficient. I don't need psychology, or Christian self-help books, or ladies' night out with a dozen women (however sweet), or the association of Christians with sloppy walks who assure one another, "I'm o.k., you're o.k."

And as fun as it can be, I know now that I don't even need friendly chitter-chatter or delicious fried chicken at a beautifully-laid buffet if I haven't eaten of the Living, Holy Word of God first.

It is the preeminent need in the gathering together of His saints. I once stated that, "Maybe good fellowship trumps doctrine," but I was wrong.

I need to be drenched in God's thoughts. I need Him to daily awaken that insatiable desire in me to know more of Him. I need to love Him for Who He says He is in His revelation to the human race.

I need Him. Only Him. Always Him. More of Him.

Wonderful. Isn't it great to hear such messages when we go to church. Our church just adopted a new Logo. It is based on the 5 solas. Pastor Charlie preached on the 5 Soals and then the rest of the things in t he crest. It was wonderful. It helped people to understand why we call ourselves "Reformened". Check out my churches website and you'll see the Crest. It is beautiful. It is a visual reminder of the 5 Solas.

I agree . . . we need only Him. Our eyes are to be set on Him and Him alone each moment of the day. (Also, thanks for your encouragement on my blog the other day. I too am slowing down in visits to various blogs. It was nice to have you come by for a moment.)

Great message. A timely reminder for me that He is all I need.
