Resilience...

...It's my favorite thing about children.

Resilience gets my daughter up from a fall, without missing a beat.
Well, oftentimes. O.k. -- sometimes.

Resilience shows my child to do her very best -- cheerfully,
even if her first try -- or five -- needed redirection.
Well, most of the time -- and most of the girls.

Resilience kicks in to rescue my daughter
from too much motherly instruction.
That happens a lot, though less and less every year;
Poor Fifi. Being the oldest, she surely caught the worst of it.

Resilience lets them laugh when Mommy is
taking herself tooooooooo seriously.
And it is such a relief to all of us.

Resilience is an attribute that I thank the Lord for giving my children.
And they need it -- because, afterall, I'm their mother!

I'm the oldest child. I've been resilient as long as I've been a sister to anyone. And I adore my mother. And your children adore their mother.

Just a little pat on the back which I happen to think you deserve.

You are so sweet, Barb! Thanks. I hope my post didn't sound discouraged. It was actually a very good day -- mostly because my girls are so...resilient! I've got to lighten up, and they know it.
