Double Billing and A Repeat

Double billing....that's what Husband playfully accused Fifi of trying to do when she bounded to the door this evening with two...count them -- two!...of her molars in the palm of her hand. She lost them both within hours of eachother. I didn't even know they were loose! Where is my "bitty-baby?"

She wondered if she should just throw them away, but I stopped her. Now I must remember to do the "tooth fairy" thing. No, we're not fooling anyone with it -- but loosing a tooth is a fun milestone (hence, the bounding to the door yelling, "It's a record! It's a tooth-loosing record!) and we like to make a big thing out of it with a little "piece of money," as the littler ones call it.

I also got a repeat call from my pediatrician's office this morning. Better two than none, I told the nurse. The Dr. had been on vacation last week and so there was some confusion amongst his staff as to whether or not I'd been called with Cuddlebug's blood test result. I meant to post the good news earlier. No trace of mercury! I asked the nurse if that meant no trace, or an acceptable trace. She said it meant no trace -- which is good news considering we do eat fish and have vaccinated the children.

I still do the tooth fairy thing with my seven year old. I was always afraid I'd forget to slip the coins under her pillow and one time I really did forget! I felt awful!
I forget what I said to her...something about maybe it was because that time she didn't leave a note like last time (I don't ever out and out lie to my kids about Santa or the tooth fairy but I do play along with the fantasy)...and you can be sure that the tooth fairy left something the following night- I think she probably should have doubled the amount for the emotional suffering inflicted by "forgetting". Luckily, my daughter got over it fast and was just as happy after the next night. :)
